I've been trying to blog at least once a week by doing the PrompTuesday that San Diego Momma puts up on her blog every Tuesday (see link above). Normally it takes me a few days to actually do it. This week I'm blaming the migraine that plagued me for 3 days! So... without further adieu:
Here it is: Write about a reunion.
In July 2010 I flew, first time ever by myself, to Charlotte North Carolina to spend my birthday weekend with some of my best girlfriends from high school. Life & lots of miles had kept us apart since 1997. With some trepidation about the solo flight I left my husband at the security line and hoped on a plane. Mind you, I've only been on a plane a few times prior to this trip and always with my Husband to guide me (aka hold my hand).
I landed in Charlotte & immediately was scared of the big ole airport but determined to be courageous. I slowly begin to find my way around following signs towards luggage pickup - which BTW seemed to be about 3 miles from where we departed the plane. There were tons of people zooming past me to unknown destinations making me even more nervous. Although, I have to admit that it was pretty cool to see my name throughout the place.
Just as I start to think I've lost my way and begin to feel a bit (alot) panicky I start down an escalator and suddenly realize that at the bottom stands my friends with Sandi holding a big ole sign that says "Welcome Home Charlotte".
One of the best reunions ever!!

You know, I've never thought about it before, but I haven't flown by myself either. That would be scary! That sign your friend is holding is so cool, though - I love it!
